Machu Picchu


The city of Machu Picchu, is located 130 km from Cuzco on Vilcabamba Batholith,
Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas, ceased to be such in the nineteenth century when it was threatened by foreign expeditions to exploit its treasures. The discovery is attributed to American professor Hiram Bingham in 1911.

Machu Picchu was founded in the mid-fifteenth century by Pachacutec, and could be populated by between 300 and 1,000 people made up the "upper class" Inca and settlers from all parts of the empire who worked as farmers. 

During the times of the Inca Empire, the city was considered as a religious, cultural center and a rich city surrounded by hundreds of agricultural complex of Machu Picchu depended to feed its citizens populated well connected with the rest of the Inca empire with its magnificent road networks.

  • I think the city of Machu Picchu is an impressive tourist spot, it really is the city of heaven, because its structure is very striking and reach this place is an adventure you will never forget.
